Born in 1969, I belong to the generation of no-hopers who left school with very few or no qualifications and no prospects. Photography changed all that! I qualified in the early 90’s with four City & Guilds and took it to a new level. I found a real interest in the different effects that were possible, using different lenses, filters, lighting, etc. Then digital photography made it possible to achieve even greater variety of effects, and higher quality images without a darkroom.

Alongside this consuming interest ran my interest in all things American, which eventually led to visits to the States. I wasn't disappointed. The vistas were breathtaking, the scale beyond my wildest dreams, and colors, shapes and textures in a variety and profusion not seen in the UK.

Examples of my exciting and original use of color can be seen in the graffiti art featured on my other web site www.dj-catch.co.uk All of these are early pieces of my own work which demonstrate the developing interest in movement, shape and color.

It was inevitable that the two interests of USA and photography would come together, and this is reflected in the developing www.tonytreloarphotography.co.uk web site where I attempt to bring some of this mind-blowing experience into your own living room.

I have so far concentrated largely on California on the West Coast, with occasional forays into Utah, Pennsylvania, Nevada & Arizona, but the plan is to cover all the US States in time. Keep watching!

My www.dj-catch.co.uk web site is devoted more to sound than to vision, but the graffiti art adds character, interest and excitement.  On this web site you can listen to samples from my first two scratch mix CD’s.  They are in a totally original style, manipulating sound and offering a new interpretation of sources as wide and varied as mixing hip hop tracks with audio clips from film & TV. Well worth a visit.
